Birth Doula

A little bit about me...

Hi! I’m Lily! I am a New Jersey native with a B.S. in Kinesiology from North Carolina A&T State University. I love to dance, cook/bake, travel, and wine/ dine at fancy restaurants. In my free time I’m usually at the gym, spending time with my friends and family, watching movies, listening to music, or reading romance novels. I am pretty new to Raleigh but I have found my church home at Raleigh North Christian Center!

5 words that describe me

Faithful

Resilient

Loving

Flexible

Nonjudgemental

what is your doula style/philosophy?

I feel it’s my job to learn what works best for mama in her time of need and expand upon that because everyone has different personality traits, preferences, and copes with labor differently. Birth is very intimate and I make it a priority to keep my moms and their spouses physically, emotionally and educationally supported throughout the entire process so mom can make informed decisions and her voice is always heard.
I believe that birth is a sacred, intuitive, and a profound natural experience. Our bodies were created with wisdom designed not only to grow new life but also to bring that life safely into this world. This innate capability is a testament to the strength & resilience woven into every woman’s being. Every woman has a right to decide how their experience will go.

why did you become a doula?

Birth work has been on my heart since I graduated high school, and after spending my college years serving low-income families while studying pre-physical therapy, I decided to follow that calling and fully dive into doula work. I hope to earn my master’s in nursing and become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). Becoming a doula allows me to embrace a more holistic approach to labor and delivery, giving me the tools to empower and support women as I grow in the world of birth work.

favorite types of clients to support?

I’m open to supporting all births but I feel really drawn to intimate home births.

Amanda H.

As a third-time mom, this was my first birth with a doula and it was truly an incredible experience. Despite all my efforts to go into labor naturally, I reached 41+ weeks and decided to be induced. From the moment Lily stepped in, it felt like we became a team. We quickly learned each other's rhythms, built a genuine connection, and had thoughtful, honest conversations about every possible turn my birth could take. Lily helped me feel informed, empowered, and confident in advocating for myself throughout the entire process.

Her presence was grounding, supportive, and exactly what I didn't know I was missing in my previous births. I honestly say this without hesitation: I would have 10 more babies if I knew Lily would be by my side for every single one.
