Birth & Postpartum Doula
A little bit about me...
I have 4 crazy kiddos that I homeschool! My husband and I have been married since 2012. I was born and raised in Ohio (Go Bucks) and moved to NC in 2017. In the winter I love to snowboard and the summer I’m all about the beach. When I’m not serving at church I am outside playing with my children! I became a doula in 2022 and love every aspect of it!

what is your doula style?
My doula style is hands on and nurturing. I have a whole bag of tricks that I bring with me to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. I want you to feel comfortable and cared for, I’ll handle the rest!
My philosophy is to help educate mothers so they can make the best choice for their family. I will point you in the direction of evidence based research so that you feel confident in the decisions you are making.
why did you become a doula?
I became a doula first of all because I love all things birth, postpartum and newborn. I loved giving birth to my babies and being empowered to trust my body. I feel like healthcare has a tendency to take advantage of vulnerable women and can lead to discontent and birth trauma. By nature I am a researcher and I want every woman to know her choices and to be informed. My goal as a birth doula is to help women feel empowered and heard in the birth space as well as educated. The magnitude of postpartum can be way more than women bargain for and can be very overwhelming. My goal as a postpartum doula is to help you understand what’s happening to your body and that (most of the time) it’s normal. Sometimes all you need is a shower and a nap and I want to be that support for new mothers (and fathers).
favorite types of births to support?
My favorite type of birth is all of them. I love to see a first time mom trust her body and be successful and proud of herself. I love to see a VBAC mom beat the odds and have the vaginal birth she always dreamed of. I love a homebirth to see the family all equally participate and bring life into a familiar environment. Every birth is special and I am blessed to be able to witness and support mothers through it.
