A little bit about me...
Hi! I’m Joelle, a wife, mama, and birth and postpartum doula here in North Carolina. My husband, Sam, and I are raising our sweet boy, Levi, and we love calling this state home. Our faith is an important part of our lives, and we strive to reflect the love and grace of Jesus in all we do. Becoming a mom has been one of my greatest joys and inspired my passion for supporting other families through this special season. When I’m not supporting families, you can find me playing and having dance parties with my son, snuggled up on the couch watching movies with my husband, or sipping on latte's with my friends!

what is your doula philosophy?
I believe birth and postpartum are meant to be supported, not something you’re expected to just “get through.” My approach is centered on making sure you feel seen, heard, and cared for in a real, tangible way. You deserve to understand what’s happening in your body, to feel confident in your choices, and to have someone in your corner every step of the way. I deeply value physiological birth and the way the body was created to work, but more than anything, I believe in supporting your experience, whatever that looks like. Whether you are choosing to birth naturally, medicated, or having a C-Section, I believe deeply in the need to feel supported through it all. In both birth and postpartum, I focus on creating a calm, steady presence. I strive to be someone who can support you emotionally, offer guidance when needed, and help you feel less alone in the process.
why did you become a doula?
I first became a postpartum doula after having my son and experiencing just how hard the postpartum period can be, especially without a village. That season shifted a lot for me. It sparked a deep desire to support other women through such a transformative, beautiful, and also incredibly challenging time, and to help them feel less alone in it. Not long after, I felt called into birth work as well. As I began learning more about physiological birth, I started to see just how often women are missing the support, advocacy, and steady presence they truly deserve during labor. Birth is powerful, but it can also feel overwhelming and uncertain without the right people in your corner. Becoming a birth doula felt like a natural extension of the work I was already doing, which was showing up for women not just after baby arrives, but from the very beginning of their journey into motherhood.
favorite types of clients to support?
I love supporting all clients, but I feel especially connected to first-time moms and VBAC clients. First-time motherhood can feel like stepping into the unknown, and I love being a steady, reassuring presence through that transition. As a C-section mom myself, I also understand how deeply personal and intentional the decision to pursue a VBAC is. I’m passionate about supporting women through both experiences and helping them feel informed, confident, and genuinely supported every step of the way.
