A little bit about me...
Hi! I’m Carly. I was born and raised in Wake Forest alongside my five older sisters, so family has always been a huge part of my life; and now, getting to be an aunt is one of my absolute favorite roles! Doula work is so much more than a job to me, it’s a calling I truly believe the Lord has placed on my heart. My love for Jesus and my faith shape the way I support and care for families during such a meaningful season. It’s an honor I don’t take lightly, and I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I get to build with each client! A fun fact: my mom and one of my older sisters are doulas too, so caring for families is something that runs deep in my family. Outside of birth work, I love long walks, time spent with family and friends, and being involved in my church community. You can also find me at the gym, doing something creative, reading, or unwinding with music or a good podcast.

what is your doula philosophy?
I believe birth is something intentionally designed, and that in many cases it unfolds best with patience, support, and minimal interference. At the same time, I value the wisdom of modern medicine and believe interventions have an important place when they’re used thoughtfully and at the right time. For me, it comes down to discernment - holding space, trusting the process, and also recognizing when extra support is needed. I care deeply about families feeling safe, informed, and truly supported as they make decisions that align with their values and needs.
why did you become a doula?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve felt drawn to helping moms and caring for babies. I always knew I wanted to support families in some way, and becoming a doula is where that passion ultimately led me. It feels like the perfect combination of my love for people and my heart for families. As I’ve grown in this work, my passion has only deepened. I’ve seen firsthand the importance of informed consent and evidence-based care, and how much it matters for families to feel supported, heard, and empowered in their birth experience. Being able to walk alongside them in that is something I don’t take lightly.
favorite types of births to support?
I love all births and believe they all deserve support!! That said, I have a special heart for out-of-hospital births, physiological births, and redemptive birth experiences.
