Gabby Seel
Birth & Postpartum Doula
A little bit about me...
I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and moved to Raleigh to attend NC State where I earned a bachelors degree in Social Work. While at NC State, I met my husband and we were married in 2020. In 2024 (with the support of ERDC) we welcomed our first child, a precious little boy that is the light of our lives! We also have a sweet, snuggly little rescue dog. Some of my favorite things include drinking lattes at cute coffee shops, cooking/baking for my family, gardening, snow skiing, arranging flowers and putting together 1000+ piece puzzles. The most important thing in my life though is my relationship with Jesus and I treasure spending time with Him and sharing His love with those around me.

what is your doula philosophy?
I believe that every woman deserves to have someone walk closely alongside them and help them feel confident, supported and prepared throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. I firmly believe that preparing for birth and postpartum through education can help lessen fear, anxiety and trauma that can occur during this important and vulnerable time in a woman’s life. I strive to love and care for my clients well and encourage them to learn and research how their bodies were beautifully designed to birth and care for their babies. I want my clients to feel like they have a friend, cheerleader, and advocate through my support as their doula.
why did you become a doula?
I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and birth and I have a deep passion for caring for others. Over the past few years, I have become aware of the lack of support that many women face in pregnancy, birth and postpartum as well as the need for more education and empowerment surrounding birth. My desire is to help women feel educated, equipped, confident and cared for throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey!
favorite types of clients to support?
I love birth of all kinds, especially physiological, undisturbed births. However, I have a special place in my heart for mamas facing more medicalized births due to health challenges. With a long family history of preeclampsia and as a preeclampsia survivor myself, I know that pregnancy and birth doesn’t always go how we want it to and that can be tough. But I want to help women find the beauty in those experiences as well.
