Postpartum Doula

A little bit about me...

I am a happily married wife of 26 years and a mom of four—three sons and one daughter. My children range in age from 19 to 36, and I am also a proud Mimi to my beautiful granddaughter. My sons and granddaughter live here in North Carolina, while my daughter lives in Massachusetts. Although we aren’t all in the same place, we are intentional about making time for one another. Family time is incredibly important to me, and our Sunday family meals are some of my favorite moments. I am also a proud “grand-dog” Mimi to my daughter’s two Golden Retrievers, who I absolutely adore! At home, my husband and I have two kitties, Rachel and Phoebe, who keep us entertained and very much loved. My faith is at the center of who I am. As a Christian woman, I believe children are precious gifts from God, and I feel incredibly blessed to have a heart for caring for them and supporting the families who love them. I have a special passion for babies and for walking alongside new moms and dads as they welcome their little one.

I enjoy teaching and encouraging parents as they learn the practical skills of caring for their baby, while also reminding them to slow down and cherish the little moments that pass far too quickly. I believe in providing compassionate, non-judgmental support and meeting each family where they are. I care for every child as I would my own—with patience, tenderness, and genuine love. When I’m not caring for families, I love spending quality time with my own family, swimming, enjoying the outdoors, and having quiet time with Jesus. I treasure making memories and being intentional with the gift of time we have together. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve families during such a precious season of life. My faith shapes the way I love, serve, and care for others, and I strive to use the gifts God has given me to bring encouragement, compassion, and support to every family I serve. ❤️

what is your doula style?

My doula style is calm, patient, flexible, and encouraging. I believe in empowering both mom and dad to discover what works best for their family, without judgment or pressure. I’m there to teach, guide, listen, and provide reassurance while allowing parents to build confidence in their own instincts and care for their baby in a way that feels right for them.

why did you become a doula?

After 40 years of working in healthcare, I knew that when that chapter of my career came to an end, it was time to pursue what God had been placing on my heart—supporting families and caring for babies. Caring for others has always been a meaningful part of my life, but I have a particular passion for babies and for supporting parents as they navigate those precious first days and weeks with their new little one. I want to be the extra set of hands, the listening ear, and the reassuring presence that allows parents to rest, recover, gain confidence, and truly enjoy this special season. Nothing brings me greater joy than nurturing babies and supporting families. I believe this is more than simply a new career path for me—it is a calling and an opportunity to use the gifts and experiences God has given me to serve others with love, compassion, and grace.

favorite types of births to support?

I believe postpartum should be a season of new beginnings, joy, adjustment, healing, and growth. Every new mother deserves compassionate, individualized care that nurtures not only her newborn, but also her confidence as a parent. I believe in meeting families where they are, offering non-judgmental support, evidence-based education, and encouragement as they navigate this important transition. I respect each family’s unique values, culture, and parenting choices while providing guidance that empowers parents to make informed decisions with confidence. My goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where parents feel heard, valued, and confident in caring for their baby, while also recognizing the importance of their own physical and emotional well-being. Above all, I want families to feel that they don’t have to navigate this season alone. My role is to support, nurture, teach, and encourage—while helping parents trust themselves and enjoy the precious moments of welcoming their baby. ❤️

a few of my favorite things...

I enjoy a good flavored Starbucks or coffee shop coffee made with oat milk and just about anything with cinnamon. Ice cream is a favorite treat and I enjoy smoothies especially creating something new. I enjoy bath and body works scented warmer oils especially the beach scents. And always like Amazon gift cards.
